Materials

  • 1 kg catfish
  • Enough oil for frying

Spice

  • 7 red chilies
  • 5 pieces of cayenne pepper
  • 5 cloves of red onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/4 tomato, seeds removed (you can also use tamarind)
  • 1 segment kencur
  • Enough water
  • To taste salt, sugar, and flavoring

Step

  • 1. Fry the fish until brown, set aside.
  • 2. Fry red chilies, cayenne pepper, shallots, garlic, and tomatoes until they are just wilted. Don't forget to cut it so it doesn't explode.
  • 3. Lift and place directly on the mortar. Add kencur, salt, sugar, and flavorings and then knead until smooth.
  • 4. Give a little water, smooth. Then fish paste and coat with spices. The catfish penyet is ready to be enjoyed
