Cheese Souffle

Ingredient

  • • 42 gr butter
  • • 28 grams of all-purpose flour
  • • 240 ml of liquid milk
  • • 115 gr grated cheddar cheese (can be combined with parmesan & edam cheese)
  • • 2 tbsp chopped onions
  • • 2 slices of smoked meat (optional)
  • • tsp salt
  • • tsp black pepper
  • • 4 egg yolks
  • • 4 egg whites
  • • 1 tsp lemon/lime juice
  • • 1 tsp sugar (optional)

How to make

  • 1. Preheat oven to 180⁰C
  • 2. Prepare a heat-resistant baking sheet / ramekin, size according to taste. Coat all surfaces of the ramekins with butter, then finely floured.
  • 3. In a saucepan, melt the butter, then add the flour, cook on medium heat, stir, then add the liquid milk gradually while continuing to stir until it boils. Turn off the fire
  • 4. Add cheese, onion, salt and pepper. Mix well.
  • 5. Add eggs, enter one by one. Once mixed, transfer to another bowl.
  • 6. Beat the egg whites that have been added with lemon juice, until stiff peaks
  • 7. Enter the beaten egg whites gradually (3x) into the egg yolk mixture. Fold, until smooth.
  • 8. Pour into the pan.
  • 9. Bake in the oven with a temperature of 180⁰C fire up and down for 25-30 minutes
