Ingredients

  • 1 mackerel, cut into 2
  • 1 lime
  • 1 pineapple, peeled, cut into 2
  • 1 segment of galangal, geprek
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 2 pieces of tamarind, dissolved in a little water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp mushroom stock
  • 500 ml water

Ground spices

  • 8 cloves of red onion
  • 4 red chilies
  • 4 curly chilies
  • 3 pecans
  • 1 tsp shrimp paste
  • 1 segment of turmeric

How to make

  • 1. Coat the fish with 1 lime juice and 1 tsp salt, let stand 15 minutes then wash again.
  • 2. Before grinding, the spices to be mashed are roasted first. After a bit cool then blender / pulverize.
  • 3. Boil the water until it boils then add the ground spices that have been in the blender. Cook again.
  • 4. Add pineapple, galangal and bay leaf. Cook until the bay leaf wilts.
  • 5. Enter the fish, then pour the tamarind water, add salt, sugar and mushroom broth. Cook until the fish is cooked.
  • 6. Belitung Fish Soup is ready to be served.
