Ingredients for Beehive Buns (Beehive Bread)

  • 1 egg (weight 50 gr)
  • 35 grams of sugar
  • 110 ml liquid milk uht
  • 3 g instant yeast
  • 250 gr high protein flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 28 gr butter/margarine

Honey syrup

  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 40 g sugar
  • 30 ml water
  • *** Cook all ingredients to a boil, reduce heat, cook until slightly thickened

How to Make Beehive Buns (Beehive Bread)

  • 1. Mix the eggs, sugar, milk, and instant yeast, stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  • 2. Enter the flour and salt, mix well, knead until well mixed, let stand 20 minutes.
  • 3. Add butter, knead until elastic. Cover with cling wrap, let rest for 45 minutes. Deflate the dough.
  • 4. Cut the dough into 10 grams, let stand 5 minutes, round it, and arrange it on a 20 cm round baking sheet that has been smeared with margarine (requires 37 circles). Cover with cling wrap or whatever and let it rise until it doubles.
  • 5. Brush the top with whole milk, sprinkle with sesame seeds, bake at 190 °C for 15 minutes until the top is browned. Remove, heat and brush with evaporated milk or butter. Serve with honey syrup or butterscootch sauce (caramel sauce).
