krecek fried sambel

Ingredient

  • 250 gr box crackers
  • 250 gr beef, diced
  • 65 ml instant coconut milk
  • 4 tbsp cooking oil for frying
  • 1 liter of water

Ground spices

  • 8 cloves of red onion
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 5 curly red chilies
  • 3 large red chilies
  • 2 pieces of red chili

Complementary Seasoning

  • 2 large red chilies, seeds removed & finely chopped
  • 7 whole red chilies
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 lime leaves
  • 1 lemongrass stalk, crushed
  • 1 finger galangal, geprek
  • 1/2 small size brown sugar
  • Salt & mushroom broth, to taste

How to make

  • 1. Heat oil, saute ground spices until fragrant. Then add chopped chilies, bay leaves, lime leaves, lemongrass & galangal, stir-fry again until fragrant.
  • 2. Enter the meat, stir until it changes color then add water. Cook over low heat for 30 minutes.
  • 3. Enter the krecek, cayenne pepper & seasoning. Cook until the crackles wilt & the spices absorb.
  • 4. Enter the coconut milk, cook until boiling.
  • 5. Taste correction, serve with a sprinkling of fried onions.
