Baby Squid Salted Sambal Ijo

Ingredient

  • 250 gr salted baby squid
  • 100 gr anchovies
  • 50 gr banana
  • 250 gr green chilies (mix large and curly)
  • 3 green tomatoes
  • 9 cloves of red onion (thinly sliced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (thinly sliced)
  • 3 lbs of lime leaves
  • 1 tbsp mushroom broth
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)

How to make

  • 1. Wash the squid, flush with hot water, let stand for about 7 minutes. Then fry for a while (if you don't want to fry it's okay too), set aside
  • 2. Fry the anchovies for a while, set aside
  • 3. Boil the green chilies and tomatoes for about 3 minutes, then grind them roughly, or crush them in a blender, set aside
  • 4. Heat the oil, add the onion and lime leaves, saute for a while. Enter the green chili paste, cook with a bit of oil, until there is no unpleasant smell. Add mushroom stock and sugar, stir again.
  • 5. Add in a row the bananas, squid and anchovies. Cook until all mixed well. Turn off the heat, ready to serve
